michelle adams’ upper west side abode in lonny
lonny editor michelle adams turned the lens on herself for this month’s issue, and invited the shelter mag into her sun drenched upper west side one bedroom. the accompanying article tells the endearing story of how adams arrived at her career in interior design, notably mentioning that michelle likes to move.
that’s right – the girl actually enjoys what most people (myself included) would put in the “personal hell” category. her last place was a quintessential lower east side pad with exposed brick; her new home is a neutral oasis with floor to ceiling windows and tons of white. adams is a girl after my own heart, what with her neutral canvas and pops of color, sparkle and animal print. i mean, do you die for that hot pink splatter “painted” settee, or do you not? (for those not acquainted with jamie meares’ furbish studio, the settee is born of her genius. get familiar!
also, can we talk about that giant convex mirror in her entryway? paired with the paint-splattered console? amazing. not to mention that thing on the left that resembles a flower? it’s not. it’s an african feathered headdress adams picked up at the chelsea flea. her bedroom is just as swoon-worthy, with a framed kate moss supreme shot and a tiny sunburst mirror (you know i’m into those lately). and i can’t even handle those leopard benches (i bet they’re x-benches). someone fan me before i faint.
of course, adams also dabbles in lucite, crystal, moroccan wedding blankets (made into pillows) and gallery walls. these are a few of my favorite things…in short, i’ve got a giant girl crush on ms. adams, not just for her style (which she clearly has in droves), but also because the woman has LEGS FOR DAYS. dayum, girl.
